President - Neelam Shrestha

Neelam Shrestha is an accomplished singer, real estate agent, and community activist. Born and raised in Illam, she attended Tribuvan University in Kathmandu and University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado. She lives in Thornton, Colorado. Her compassion and devotion to community is exemplary. She has over 18 years of experience working in a variety of fields including music, art and literature, human resources and computer networking.

She was there when RMFN was born and has been there, at each and every step this organization has taken since it was registered in 2002. She is aware of every struggle this organization has faced and is still pertinent to this organization. She has a clear understanding and vision on what needs to be done to make this organization better and stronger.

She and her husband are the first lifetime members of RMFN. She is also involved with various other organizations of the Diaspora. She is a lifetime member of Association of Nepalis in the Americas (ANA), Association of Nepali Teraian in America (ANTA) and International Nepali Literary Society (INLS). After RMFN was registered, RMFN successfully hosted ANA in 2003; she was an integral part of the planning and implementation team. From 2003, she has always been a part of ANA's convention team and has contributed to several events. She has also organized and successfully executed several programs for ANMA and INLS. She brings a lot of experience from her involvements with the biggest Diaspora organization in the United States.


Vice President – Kripa Shrestha

Kripa Shrestha is a registered nurse at medical surgical unit in St. Joseph's hospital in Denver. Nursing is not only her profession but it is her passion and it's on her nature to lend a hand to the people in need. She was born and raised in Kathmandu and came to Denver for her education in Nursing. Her dedication towards Rocky Mountain Friends of Nepal is deep rooted as she started volunteering in various programs organized by RMFN since she came to the region in 2003. She served as the RMFN General Secretary from 2005 to 2007 and has been serving on the RMFN board since 2007.

In addition to the social work she has performed through RMFN, she has actively organized Mahabir Pun's USA visit for his "$1 a Month" Campaign, "An Evening with Poet Durga Lal Shrestha" in Denver, Cultural Program in benefit of Mahabir Pun's Himanchal Education Foundation, Art Exhibition, Dr. Pun's Campaign and other voluntary activities in Association of Nepalis in Americas (ANA) Conventions. In addition, she was instrumental in establishing and maintaining Children's Playroom at Kanti Children Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal.

She lives in Westminster, Colorado with her husband, Sirish Bhojpure, who has been very actively involved in numerous social activities including RMFN activities since its inception.

Kripa is very enthusiastic about her responsibilities as Vice President and vows to take the organization to the next level with the help and support of her team and the community. One of her main motivations to join the organization as an executive is to bring the community together in benefit of communities of Rocky Mountain areas and Nepal.


Secretary – Pramila Sharma

Pramila Sharma has been living in Colorado since 1991. She is a licensed psychiatric technician and works for the Government of Colorado for social rehabilitation of developmentally disabled persons. She has a Master degree in psychology from Tribhuvan University.

She is one of the promoters and currently the Treasurer of the Colorado Chapter of the International Nepali Literary Society (INLS), which began functioning since the 2003 ANA Convention held in Denver. She is  also a Trustee of the central INLS and therefore she is actively engaged in its policy and program formulations through the Board of Trustees.

She has published two award-winning books, one CD album of her lyrics, and also a number of stories and poems.

She is a life member of the RMFN and has been an active participant even in days when it was an informal organization. In 2005 RMFN awarded her a plaque of honor for her contributions to the Nepali literature, as a member of the Colorado Nepali community. Her husband, Vijaya Raj Sharma and herself have been regularly contributing $250 to the RMFN every summer for the last six years to conduct "Honor the Graduates" program. She has been regularly helping her husband in his involvements with RMFN. On his initiation, the current RMFN Board of Directors has deposited $4,000 in a CD account for accumulating fund for the long-term goal of building a community center.

Treasurer – Usha Sharma

Usha Sharma is a Treasurer for Denver Water Board, the largest water utility in Colorado. Usha leads the financial aspect of Denver Water’s cash management, debt management, risk management program as well as employee retirement plan. Prior to Denver Water, she worked at Molson Coors Brewing Company for 15 years of which the last 9 years had been spent in Treasury group managing global cash, bank relationship, debt and interest expense, global pension and repatriation strategy development. Before starting in Treasury, Usha worked at Coors Brewing Company in various areas such as Operations Finance (Inventory and cost management), Corporate Accounting (external reporting), and project management (inventory management system) .

Usha completed a MS degree in finance and a MBA from the University of Colorado and is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP). Usha is a member of Association of Financial Professional (AFP) and is president for the local association of financial professional, Colorado Treasury Management Association.

She and her husband are life member of RMFN and played an active role in the planning committee for ANA Convention in Denver in 2003. She also served on RMFN board as recently as 2007-2009 term played an advisory role bringing new and creative ideas.  She is looking forward to making meaningful contribution by standardizing its financial system as well as making RMFN finances transparent to its member community.

Usha likes to spend her free time on weekends either helping out in the community or hiking with her family. She volunteers for Project CURE 3-4 times a year packing medical supplies to be sent to the 3rd world countries or helps Bhutanese refugee families in need by providing them financial and non-financial assistance.

Dil Bhusal is currently a student of MBA, specializing in International Business at Regis University. She completed her Bachelors Degree in Economics from University of Colorado at Denver. Currently, she is working at K&G Petroleum as a Store Manager. Her responsibilities are to maintain significant cash handling, inventory tracking, controlling manager sheet, banking, customer satisfaction and handling employees at a store level. She has a strong background in Economics, Mathematics and Business. She is patient and have the ability to set and achieve goals, and work well under pressure. She is bilingual in English and Nepali and also basic fluency in French and Hindi.

She has been actively participating in social organization and have been working as a Country Coordinator for United States of America for 3 years for Helping Point Nepal (a government registered non profit organization working in the field of women and children in Nepal). In addition, she has been actively participating and contributing for fund raising and preparing proposal for Helping Point Nepal.

Pemba Sherpa has years of experience in travel and tours management. He is currently employed as a financial analyst at the Lutheran organization.
