SPORTS: A Perspective from Kid like me
What is Sports?
A sport consists of a normal physical activity played under a set of rules and competition. It is played for self-enjoyment, to attain excellence, and for the development of a skill. A sport involves physical activity, side-by-side competition, and a scoring system. The difference of purposes is what characterizes sport, combined with the notion of teamwork and individual skill.
Benefit of Sports
Researchers say that participation in sports can promote healthy development in young children. Being active in youth sports can help build a foundation for cooperative play, teamwork, and good sportsmanship while helping to refine skills in children's developing bodies. Sports help children develop physical skills, get exercise, make friends, have fun, learn to play as a member of a team, learn to play fair, and improve self-esteem.
Helps you leave video games
Instead of spending all time playing PLAYSTATION 2 or XBOX, you can utilize your time by going to a recreation center or joining any Sports club. Or you can just run around the neighborhood and play with your friends. In that way you can learn new tricks from your friends, learn your mistakes and much more. Playing play station all the time will force you to stay in your room and it might be straining to your eyes. Sports on the other hand will not only help you to have fun, help us to be healthy, but it give you chance to get in touch with you friends and teammates. That opportunity will give us to chance build a good relationship with another human being.
Pros and Cons of Sports
There are some sports where you don't get hurt or you get hurt for example skateboarding. While you are doing tricks you can fall from stairs, or get hit by a car. To prevent that you should wear elbow pads, knee pads, helmet and see if there is a car coming or not. That's an outdoor game, in indoor games chances of getting hurt are less like chess where you just sit and play.
Good types of sports for kids
A good type of sports for a kid like my age (12) will need
- Running and jumping
It helps to keep us physically and mentally fit. On the positive side, it does not cost lot to engage in this kind of activities. Running will help physically and it will contribute in normal physical development.
- Practice is key for success
That's right. If you practice and practice from childhood and believe in your heart that "you can do it", on day we can be successful sport personal. We kids have to understand that, "where there is a will, there is a way." Tiger woods (golfer) practice golf from his childhood, and now he is the highest paid athlete ($80.3 million) He is just 30 and has 30 or more years to go. Tiger is followed by Michael Schumacher (Formula1 racer) richest sports star last year. He is accounted for $80 million.
